Monteverde: The Cloud Forest

After breakfast, we left Arenal. Finally, we had good views of the volcano. It actually has a cone shaped top like the pictures you draw as a kid. The drive was beautiful, but Brian didn't notice much, as he was focused on the switchbacks. Along the route, there were about 50 different signs for a tourist trap called Toad Hall. There were even signs to tell you to turn back in case you missed it. We purposely missed it.

The highlight of the afternoon was watching a bus get untangled from some low hanging power lines. One of the tourists climbed on the roof and used a broom to get the bus through. Of course, Brian didn't enjoy this because he had to use the restroom, but he is unwilling to stop at any of the little places. The road is a disaster, but it is beautiful up here.
